As the Natural Product Chemistry (NPC) Lab, we focus on the isolation and characterization of secondary metabolites from natural sources (plants and microorganisms). We evaluate the bioactivity of these molecules, assessing their immunomodulatory, cytotoxic/antitumor, and antimicrobial activities through bioactivity screening.
We conduct semi-synthesis and biotransformation studies to uncover structure-activity relationships of bioactive molecules, predict metabolic products, enhance biological effects, or reduce toxic effects. For advanced research, we optimize the production processes of metabolites with high potential.
Recently, we have been working on developing agents that are effective in anti-aging or promote healthy aging, particularly targeting Nrf-2 and telomere/telomerase/proteasome systems.
