BESCO Vitruvian III
BESCO Vitruvian is a conference aimed at bringing together researchers in the fields of Biomaterials Science and Tissue Engineering from around the world. The theme of the conference is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s famous “Vitruvian Man” drawing. This drawing, interpreted by Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, symbolizes the harmony of human body parts and the potential of human capacity to reach the level of an “ideal creator.” This image allows us to believe that human limitations can be surpassed, and superior boundaries can be reached; it also illustrates that natural human body parts and human-made enhancements can coexist harmoniously, as depicted in the “Vitruvian Man.”
In this year’s third conference:
With an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran, Rector of İzmir Institute of Technology, the event will include:
– Associate Prof. Dr. Khoon S. Lim with a talk titled “Light Activated Biomaterials for 3D Bioprinting,”
– Dr. Jiao Jiao Li with a presentation on “Regenerative Medicine for Bone and Joint Diseases,”
– Dr. Elisa Garbayo with the topic “Injectable Hydrogels for Biomedical Applications-Focus on Brain and Cardiac Repair,”
– Prof. Dr. Artemis Stamboulis with “Antimicrobial Surfaces Functionalized with Antimicrobial Peptides,”
– Associate Prof. Dr. Mohammad Moeini on “Injectable Hydrogels for Neural Tissue Engineering,”
– Dr. Tiago H. Silva presenting “From the Ocean to Biomaterials and Advanced Therapies: Some Experiences.”
Our conference will be held on October 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM (GMT +3) via the Microsoft Teams platform. To register for the conference:
