The Department of Bioengineering at Izmir Institute of Technology (IYTE) aims to train expert manpower for universities and industry in the three main fields of bioengineering (molecular and cellular bioengineering, biomedical technologies and bioprocess engineering). The department aims to host high-impact and innovative scientific research, pioneer translational research that can be transferred to industry, and provide expertise to the public in related fields.

Education and Research Focus

Our department is focussed on providing high quality education in the field of bioengineering. It develops innovative bioengineering approaches to solve problems in national and international priority areas such as health and pharmaceutical industries, environment and energy industries. In this way, we train expert researchers who will produce high value-added technology, products and knowledge.
