Hüseyin Cumhur Tekin, PhD
Assistant Professor, Department of Bioengineering
Dr. Huseyin Cumhur Tekin received his BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2005, and from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) in 2007, respectively. He obtained his PhD degree in Microsystems and Microelectronics at EPFL in 2012. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in EPFL, Harvard Medical School and Stanford University School of Medicine. He is an assistant professor in the department of Bioengineering at Izmir Institute of Technology since January 2016.
The Tekin lab is working on delivering innovative solutions for biomedical problems using micro/nanotechnology and combining elements from different disciplines, like engineering, medicine, physics, chemistry, biology and material sciences. The lab focuses on lab-on-a-chip technologies to develop easy-to-use, low-cost and energy-efficient biomedical devices for point-of-care testing. The group is also developing mobile health (mHealth) technologies to interconnect portable biomedical devices with the healthcare system using telemedicine applications for clinical care and remote patient monitoring.
